Who is the miracle in Luke 7:11-17 for? A strange question, perhaps, given that a man who was dead is alive again. And yet, the way Luke tells the story, it seems Jesus’ compassion is focused on the widowed mother. This is a fascinating episode that reveals a lot about how, when, and where God’s glory shows up!

In John 2:1-11, we see glory redefined. It is glory with a silent purpose and aim, to create faith in Jesus. He responds to human need in ways that seem hidden and mysterious. But his ways are open to the eyes of faith.
