The Divine Work of Transformation
Speaker: Mike Steele
Mike is one of the pastors of Open House, a new church plant of The Bridge. With this message, we begin a new series on transformation. Our regular weekly rhythm of preaching through the Bible will be on hold during the weeks of this series.
One of the key challenges Mike presents is this: we need Jesus! Although this sounds pretty straight-forward and even simplistic, if you really think about it, we often live as though Jesus is a convenient accessory to our faith. We must come to understand – and then live out – the truth that Jesus is essential to a transformed life.

Sunday, August 23, 2009
Speaker: Wayne Cox
Colossians 1:24-29; 2:1-23. In this passage, Paul writes about the only “secret” we’ll ever need: Christ himself. We can be deceived by what the text calls “plausible arguments” and “empty deceit” and “human tradition.” This text was written so that we can avoid the temptation to add to the sufficiency of Jesus.
Pentecost Sunday
Everyone of us believes in an “unseen” world. This is illustrated by such things as gravity, electricity, and germs. But it’s not just that we believe in unseen realities, we believe those realities affect the “seen” world around us. This is, in essence, the message of Pentecost.
